Here are the instructions to clone Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge Continental GPEC2 ECM with OBDSTAR DC706 & MP001 programmer.
You will need
OBDSTAR DC706 ECU TCU cloning tool
ECU Jumper cables (or bundle set with DC706, MP001 and jumper cables)
GPEC2 ECM
Extra power supply.
Procedure:
In DC706 select ECU Flasher->latest ECM software version.
Search Jeep GPEC2 MPC5566+659320
Select Boot Mode with MP001 (you can also use P003, P003+)
The function requires network connection.
Read instructions and wiring diagram.
For BENCH & BOOT (workbench) operation, please use a reliable high-power DC regulated power supply (current not less than 5A) to power the ECU. OBDSTAR’s standard power adapter (current 2A) is only used for device charging and is not recommended for ECU. power supply, otherwise communication may fail due to low power of the power adapter!
There are 3 connections available, you can use P003, P003+, or MP001 connection
To use P003 or P003+ connections, you will need to prepare a 120ohm resistor (to connect between the CAN high and CAN low wires.)
You don’t need to connect a 120ohm resistor if you use the MP001 connection.
We are working in boot mode, we need to open the ECU shell first.
Then connect the wires following the OBDSTAR DC706‘s prompts.
After the connection completed, we follow the instructions to locate the BOOT to connect the wires.
After connection is done.
Press Connect
Connect with ECU successfully.
Now read the eeprom and Flash data of the original ECU.
Read and save EXT eeprom
Read and save INT flash
Then write the EEPROM and Flash data into the new ECU.
Once the writing is complete, the new ECU can be installed and used in the vehicle without programming.
