Here comes the honest review of OBDSTAR iScan KTM motorcycle diagnostic scanner:
“Finally found a cheap diagnostic tool that supports Husqvarna and KTM. I bought OBDSTAR iScan KTM/Husqvarna model. This tool replicates the features and functions of my shop level $5000 Texa system.
I have a professional shop tool from TEXA and the menus on the OBDSTAR device look very similar. All the third party tool features are usually based on the systems for the bike vendor anyway. I would say it’s well worth the risk considering how cheap it is.
The OBDStar is quite cheap for a diagnostic tool with the feature set it has. It has a special function for bleeding the brake system as mentioned in the KTM service manual. No details in the manual except to say follow on screen instructions.
I haven’t see anything cheaper that can access the ABS module. Same with my Texa system. It just pumps fluid through the pump and you bleed normally.
Did the brake bleed. Bled the front and rear brakes normally. You will need a diagnostic tool to activate the ABS pump. Then I used the OBDStar to activate the pump. Wow that ABS pump makes some noise. The procedure asks to have KTM’s pressurized brake fluid tool attached, crack open the bleeder valve. The tool asks you to pull and release the lever as it times the whole process.
You should also be able to calibrate the gear position sensor and quick shifter with the OBDStar.
It cannot calibrate TPS same as the TEXA system for some reason.
