Foxflash/KT200 Read Write VAG MED17.1.1 on Bench or Boot?

How-to: read and write VAG VW Audi Skoda Seat Bosch MED17.1.1 TC1796/TC1797 on bench and boot mode using KT200/Foxflash ecu programmers.

Med17.1.1 Ecu

 

Bench Mode:

BOSCH MED17.1.1 [ 1796 protocol]

Connect the multifunction cable as follows:

Kt200 Vag Med17.1.1 Tc1796 Bench 1

To read and write use the following driver:
→ BENCH TRICORE
→ VW / AUDI / SEAT / SKODA
→ TC1796 – VAG
→ MED17.1.1

 

BOSCH MED17.1.1 [ 1797 protocol ]

Connect the multifunction cable as follows:

Kt200 Vag Med17.1.1 Tc1797 Bench 1

 

To read and write use the following driver:
→ BENCH TRICORE
→ VOLKSWAGEN / AUDI / SEAT / SKODA
→ TC1797 – VAG
→ MED17.1.1

Attention:
Some MED17.1.1 enter in Bench mode with the brown wire on Pin 18. If with the previous pinout doesn’t go in bench tricore mode, then try again by connecting it as follows:

If ECU is protected (have Tprot protection), this is not supported by bench or OBD, kt200 or fox flash will give you a message to try boot mode.

Boot Mode:

 

BOSCH MED17.1.1 [ TC1796 INT.F.]

Step 1: Read and Write ECU

Connect with the multifunction cable the following pinout and the boot shown below.
Use the driver:
→ TOOLS BOOT MODE
→ INFINEON TRICORE Boot
→ SAK TC1796

Step 2: Password Search

Disable the boot mode by unsoldering the gray wire. Connect the pinout below.
Use the driver:
→ TOOLS BOOT MODE
→ INFINEON TRICORE Tool Password
→ OBD PASSWORD TPROT V08 VAG
→ Click on “Find Password” and follow the software messages.

Now that the password has been found it’s possible to read and write the control unit as described in STEP 1.

 

 

BOSCH MED17.1.1 [ TC1797 INT-.F.]

Step 1: Read and Write ECU

Connect with the multifunction cable the following pinout and the boot shown below.
Use the driver:
→ TOOLS BOOT MODE
→ INFINEON TRICORE Boot
→ SAK TC1797

Step 2: Password Search

Connect the pinout below.
Use the driver:
→ TOOLS BOOT MODE
→ INFINEON TRICORE Tool Password
→ PASSWORD BFT
→ Click on “Find Password” and follow the software messages

If the password was found with this system, go directly to the boot step to read and write the control unit.
Otherwise, move the violet wire on pin 18 and restart the driver PASSWORD BFT:

Now that the password has been found it’s possible to read and write the control unit as described in STEP 1.
