Possible to clone a VAG Simos PCR2.1 ECU with Magic Motorsport Flex? anyone explain the process?
Here is the clue.
Transfer Immo data or Immo Off solution.
Transfer Immo data method:
Clone possible, new ecu must be same or higher HW version. Check which HW nummber you have on sticker (hw 23, hw32…)
Need full flash and eeprom from old and donor.
Can be cloned with Flex. Full read of original ecu and donor ecu. Submit files to mms support and they provide (for free) clone files to write to donor. Job done. Pay your mms subscriptions.
Read original ECU full data (eeprom + flash), read donor full data, send both backups to Magic Motorsport MMS support, they will give you new eeprom and a sgo file to write by OBD. They will guide you with steps.
If don’t transfer data from old ecu to new, you cannot clone 1 to 1.
You can also read full backup from original and new ecus, use pcr calculator generate new eeprom file, write new eeprom and old flash… Code ecu with vcds or another diagnostic and done.
Immo OFF solution:
Get second hand ecu same part number and IMMO off.
Another solution:
Work without full flash. Unlocked both eeprom with ktag clone, used original pcmflash module 53 (with same connection as ktag) to read MCUID. HW was same just the SW not. Immo data copied to the donor ecu, then wrote original coding to the donor. Made an update with flex, and work without any problem.
