Problem:
Autotuner has a problem reading EDC17 ECUs (i.e edc17c18 bench, no connection error.). It works via OBD ok but not bench.
Tested ECU with another tool and works.
Open the circuit board and found this component is burnt.
Which component needs to be changed?
Solution:
SOD128 3A 30v diode is burnt, also check MOSFET on the bench output.
The MOSFET is located inside Autotuner, next to the socket.
It happens when you touch red or pink wire to ECU body (minus ) and you are not used power supply with protection.
Replace the faulty MOSFET diode solder it directly with a 10amp fuse as well. Saved many times by fuse.
NOTE:
Autotuner programmer has 5 years guarantee. The best way is to open a ticker with Autotuner. They will unlock an Autotuner-specific diag operation, do all of them and measure everything.
If the self check psu thing inside of autotuner software did not work, send everything in for inspection and repair.
Send it back to autotuner they will repair it / replace board. Paid for a flat rate repair which is the cheaper one, got your device back with new ports and everything. Opened it up and got actually a new pcb (so new device with the old shell).
This is way cheaper and with less hassle.
