Question: It is a Fiat Ducato 2023 with Delphi DCM7.1A ECU. Can I read it with Flex via obd?
Fiat and PSA merged in 2021. They put PSA engine in these Ducatos. No more Marelli.
The Fiat Ducato 2023 (especially models with the 2.2 Multijet diesel engine) commonly uses the Delphi DCM7.1A ECU (processor TC297). Reading this ECU is typically done for purposes like tuning (e.g., EGR/AdBlue/DPF off), cloning, or repairs, but it’s a protected modern Delphi unit with security measures.
Reading the DCM7.1A on recent Fiat Ducato models (including 2023) is not reliably possible via simple OBD on many tools — several users report “ECU not supported” or failures when attempting direct OBD read/write on Fiat versions, even though the same ECU (DCM7.1A) often supports OBD on PSA equivalents (Peugeot/Citroën/Opel) with certain programmers.
- Alientech KESSv3 / KTAG — Boot mode read/write confirmed for DCM7.1A (including PSA Fiat-shared platforms).
- AutoTuner — Explicit support for Delphi DCM7.1A (TC297) in boot mode.
- Magic Motorsport Flex — Boot mode works; some users report success on similar Fiat applications, though OBD is more PSA-focused.
- FoxFlash / KT200 / KT200 II — Boot mode read/write confirmed (very popular in the community for PSA/Fiat DCM7.1A/B units; checksum handled by tool).
- OBDSTAR DC706 — Bench mode support for Delphi DCM7.x series (including variants like DCM7.1 AP); used successfully on similar ECUs.
BUT thesed devices has no protocol for new DCM7.1A new generation in Fiat Ducatos.
After August 2021 DCM7.1A has new 32-bit security, no read/write option.
