Car model and year: w221 s500 (was flood)
Problem:
I gave my car his soul back, but I have a Problem with ISM
Old ISM 1644460610 Siemens is damaged Boy water – no Communication.
I bought donor ISM with 0002701852 from Continental, virginized it with cgdi mb put to car and Communication ok.
Delete coding … personalize and activate successfully.
now variant Code is 221 and egs 722.9
All Fine but calibration fault with 8.600.0 error
Troubleshooting:
Quote ” So i bought donor ISM with 0002701852 from Continental, virginized it with cgdi put to car and Communication ok. Delete coding … personalize and activate successfully. ”
this steps was wrong
this is where d mistake came from:
Revirgin module
reset variant coding
calibrate
personalize and activate after
Finally!
I bought an ISM from Siemens
And do the steps like First time
And now works
What about using MB sd connect C4 DAS for virginzing ISM On W221?
DAS is the best for virginised ISM On W221, does not matter from wich car it came…..
Quote this user’s question: “Every ism I have done with das refuses to delete variant coding. We frequently swap from one chassis to another depending on what cars we have available in our area. Without that step done no way das will allow initial start simple as that”
Experience for sharing: RT_DEL_VARCOD is routine that simply puts zeroes in all bytes in variant coding, so u can do it yourself with vediamo, just change all bytes to 00 or 000 (depends on what view u have: decimal or hexadecimal)

I faced the same problem. I got it solved.
I had ISM from 212 and needed to install it to 164. Also if failed to delete var code in DAS. So I connected it on table and entered with Xentry and 212. with xentry it deleted variant coding well (without errors). And after that I was able to install it to 164.
Hope it helps!
