Question before entering
Is there a way to change the MB Outside Temperature Display, which is in the Instrument Cluster from Fahrenheit to Celsius for 1997-1999 models? I have a 1997 S600 model. I would like the outside temperature display and the Climate Control Unit to show in C instead of F.
Answer
Yes, follow steps below.
It is possible and very easy to do I’ve done it before what you need is DAS MB scanner that’s all OK.
The obd2 has to be connected under the hood where the 38 pin connector is and to change any settings on your cluster thru MB SD Connect Compact 4 scanner you have to find KI module.
You can change the scale on the temperature display in the instrument panel using the HHT/DAS software:
Which version MB SD C4 software contains HHT, refer to this post

Here we go.
Steps with HHT-WIN:
I have made the job and upload some picture screenshots & simple steps.
Ok once you connect with the car go to:Body
then go to:
KI.
Then go to:
Controls module adaptations
Then go to:
Read/change coding
And after that scroll down to #7 Temperature display in
C
or
F
Once you get there click on C and that’s how the Cooke crumbles
ENJOY!!!
Steps with Vediamo:
Go to CBF FILE (IC222)
Select ECU Variant (IC222_E008_2-Muster)
Tab Coding then Variant Coding
Coding window will open up
For the temperature C Scroll down to Anzeigeeionheit Temperatur (Unit_Temp) and Choose C.
All other functions are in the same windows.
