VAG MQB49 5C Chip No Longer Recognised After Adding Key?

Problem:

After reading a Skoda MQB49 5C key with keydiy kd-x4, the chip no longer recognised. Anyone had similar issue? The coil copper wire affects the chip recognition?

Solution:

This is common on VAG MQB49 5c keys.
The coil is directly related to chip communication so if it is damaged or loose the chip will not be recognised.
Check if the copper coil wire is broken or lifted from the board.
Also check continuity of the coil with multimeter.
If coil is ok then likely chip got damaged during reading.
These boards are very sensitive so even slight overheating or pressure can kill the chip.

You need to be very, very careful when opening up these keys.

All keys with coil on the board if the damaging induction coil is no longer recognised. Replace the induction coil with another good one from a New key and after îs recognised.

It happened to me too. I just brought a key from a disabled car and replaced the key coil. Replaced the coil with another.
