Problem:
Tried to read 2024 Audi RSQ8 Bosch MG1CS008 ECU with Autotuner via OBD VR, hood is up with charger. But software still asks to open hood and conect charger. Any idea?
Here is the clue.
It’s with SFD Protection.
If it’s HW31 you need to unlock SFD and then you can flash obd. HW80 needs to be unlocked first.
Unlock SFD security gateway with Autel/Launch X431/OBD Eleven.
Also the battery voltage is too low. 13V is the minimum required most of the time.
Bosch MDG1 ECUs is now supported by Autotuner with virtual reading (VR): MD1CP004, MD1CP014, MD1CS004, MD1CS014, MG1CS001, MG1CS002, MG1CS008, MG1CS011, MG1CS111, MG1CP007, MG1CS047.
This release gives you access to a wide range of vehicles from Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, Cupra, Ford, Bentley, Porsche… and even Lamborghini.
Please note: some H80 hardware variants might be supported via OBD, as AT method relies on a manufacturer-specific approach from VAG (as a reminder, the BENCH mode of your AT Tool, based on a Bosch service mode, will not work on these variants).
However, the new “Gen2” versions recently introduced by VAG are still not supported in this release (for example: MD1CS004 Gen2).
Many 2024+ Audi vehicles have SFD2 protection, you can’t do the full unlock using Autel, this protection it likes a “2 steps verification”, and needs a Odis access to unlock 100%.
To do this process, you’ll need a VAS 6154 cable.
Feedback:
Update: Unlocked SFD with Autel scanner and after a couple IGN cycles it was able to flash with Autotuner.
