Problem:
Tried to read a VW Golf R Simos 19.6 ECU using Autotuner but failed. It said the ECU variant is not yet supported in OBD mode. Ideas for reading? SFD2 bypass?
Solution:
This is a Simos 19.6 Gen2 ECU and is not yet supported as it says.
Simos 19 Gen1 OBD mode ok.
No bench or boot mode for simos19 gen1 or gen2. No tool does Gen2 (no obd/bench/boot).
You can unlock SFD2 with Autel for example, but the real problem is not the SFD2. This ECU is not yet supported.
This ECU has PDX flash format, it isn’t supported by any tool.
