Is AutoTuner or Flex safe to read and write VAG Delphi DCM3.7 ECU via OBD? What tool would you recommend?
Here is the clue.
Autotuner:
It’s a stable protocol for AT. Bad files cause these to brick. Bad file, protocol safe.
AT is a bit faster with write.
Done a few no issue – it’s dcm3.7 on Chevrolet that has issues with Autotuner – should be fine with VAG.
FYI:
If autotuner is stuck during DCM3.7 OBD reading, try turn off AT back on / unplug replug the usb / turn on your WiFi hotspot.
Flex:
Yes, it is safe with Flex. It’s real read.
DCM3.7 and DCM3.7AP obd even without battery charger.
Flex/Dfox/PCMFlash/KESS3 can recover ECU by boot.
Autotuner support recovered it in boot mode same ecu as well.
It can be recovered by boot mode most of the time. And you need to flash sw variant which was on the car when he came to you.
