APPRO2 key programmer not only adds BMW G series BDC2 keys, but also resets km and clones BDC2 module. Here we will show how to clone/replace BDC2 module using the APPRO2.
After we obtain the ECU data through preprocessing, we can virgin and replace the current module.
Virgin/Erase: virgin current module, then write new data to the current module.
Replace: Read the data of the BDC2 module (original module) to be replaced and write it to the erased module (target BDC2).
Main procedure:
1. Connect vehicle.
2. Back up coding
3. Pre-process ECU
4. Replace BDC2 module
Step 1-3 are similar to adding key process. Check the instructions here.
Caution:
This function is used to write the vehicle’s original data into a new module. Preparations are as follows:
-
Original Data Module:
-
The GxxBdcData file must be obtained in advance through preprocessing.
-
A working key is required to complete the module replacement.
-
-
New Module:
-
The new module must undergo preprocessing to read the GxxBdcData file, which is used to erase the new module.
-
If the new module has already been erased beforehand, preprocessing is not required.
-
Virgin BDC2 Module:
Note: The target module must be erased before writing. Erasing the module requires its ECU data (i.e., the ECU data must be preprocessed and obtained in advance).
Make sure the current module is the new module, load GxxBdcData data, hit Erase new module to virgin module.
Start to reset BDC2 module.
Erase BDC2 module completed.
Replace BDC2 module (clone module):
Note: The module replacement is completed by reading the original module’s ECU data and writing it into the virgin new module.
Select Load original module data.
Make sure the currently connected module is new module, and the module has been fully erased, click OK to load the original GxxBdcData data that needs to write to the new module.
Place the working key to the APP2 programmer coil to obatin password from working key.
Select Write data to new module.
Write data completed.
Install the BDC2 module to vehicle after cloning is finished.
