Launch X431 Smartlink 2.0 and Scanmatik 2 Pro (SM2 Pro) which is a better J2534 passthru device for diagnostics and programming via OEM software (Techstream, ODIS, HDS, GDS2 etc)?
It is j2534 capable so it works with other j2534 compatible programs.
Supports CAN FD and DoIP protocols.
Connects via USB and Bluetooth.
Scanmatik 2 Pro:
Unfortunately it does not have DoIP. So it does not do DoIP models, i.e BMW F series, Benz DoIP models etc.
It does not support CAN FD protocols.
SM2 pro has USB connection only.
Smartlink supports more as a multi-brand with a large coverage. And not as an adapter for working with dealer software. By the way, if you buy the Smartlink adapter only, then the price is equal to the original Scanmatic 2 pro. Apart from OEM software, Smartlink also works with 3rd party software, pcm-flash, Combiloader etc
It’s much better than the most J2534 because it’s better for trucks. So will work with almost all j2534 passthru Softwares Cars or Trucks, Scanmatik is better for Nissan Consult because have ignition on except if you find ignition on soft for Nissan, and Renault clip as again scanmatik working without any modification.
Smartlink speed is several times higher, there are no drops and other things during operation. Well, and the plus, it is able to give a full layout of the pins in the connected connector, which power or signal lines are hanging. Identifies the CAN bus and gives information on the data exchange rate. Also in a blind search on HD allows you to choose which pins to use for communication, which it identifies itself and also allows (if it is CAN), to load the line with a shunt. There are three options to choose from, without a shunt and two options with shunts.
Smartlink is better for diagnostics, SM2 pro is better for programming via various flashers.
