Both FLEX and Autotuner offer ECU unlocking services for the SID212/SID212EVO. Let’s take a look at their respective unlocking processes.
SID212 & SID212 EVO on Magic MotorSport Flex

OBD Support for Continental/Vitesco SID212 and SID212 EVO installed on Ford vehicles is now live on Flex.
Ask for the Ready For Tuning (RFT) service to activate this mode, that implies a preliminary technical intervention in Magicmotorsport’s labs.
From May 22, 2025 with the RFT service you can access the dedicated ticket and send the control units to MagicSports Flex HQ for dedicated processing (unlock ECU).
What is RFT?
- The in-house processing that enables ECU and TCU for Flex writing.
- Select the ticket available on the Helpdesk and follow the instructions.
- The ECU will come back ready for writing.
The RFT service is inaugurated by the SID212 and SID212 EVO, but this is only the first step.
Green coins can be used on our Helpdesk for work on control units at FLEX HQ, control units that otherwise would not be editable
Processing SID212 will cost 150 Green coins, but let’s find out how.
How does RFT work?
1. Find the vehicle ECU and take note of the VIN.
2. Access the magicmotorsport HelpDesk and select the dedicated ticket.
3. Follow all the instructions to access the service.
4. Pack the ECU and wait for the courier to collect it.
5. The ECU arrives at Flex HQ and is handled by their technical staff.
6. After processing, the RFT label is applied. The ECU is now editable with Flex.
7. The courier collects the ECU from Flex HQ and ships it to the specified address.
8. Install the ECU in the vehicle and program it with Flex via OBD.
Who can access the RFT service?
Clients with a Flex FLS0.5 Master or Slave active license: direct access to the service, no need for additional licenses.
Clients with other licenses but an active sub, access available via:
– Purchase of RFT (Ready For Tuning) license with single payment (690 euro).
– Upgrade to the Flex Full license by sending an email to sales@magicmotorsport.com.
How does the Helpdesk coin system work?
In order to manage technical services, including the new RFT, you can use virtual Green Coins, which are distributed free of charge each month (300 coins) to all Master users with an active subscription.
In the specific case of SID212 and SID212 EVO ECUs, each intervention requires 150 green coins per ECU, so you can benefit from at least two free services thanks to the included monthly credit.
Once your green coins are used up, you can still purchase additional coins directly from the Helpdesk area.

Q: Also can work in bench mode?
A: Only OBD.

Q: How much time you need for unlock? When you send ecu Back? Next bussines Day? Who arrange delivery back?
A: In-house processing takes 48 hours — working days — while shipping times range from 2 to 6 days. The delivery back is logistically on Flex.
The shipment is sent to MagicMotorSport’s HQ in Italy, although things may change in the future. The shipping cost, calculated during the ticket creation process, shows the total amount for all shipments.
Q: Is the ECU reading process possible before UNLOCK or is it only available after UNLOCK?
A: The reading will be available only after processing.
Q: For the UNLOCK process, is the ECU disassembled in your laboratory or do you do it in bench mode?
A: Actually must be opened.
Q: For FLS01M its not free this service?
A:
Actually, RFT is included in Full Master subscriptions. The €690 access fee grants access to the service, which will be expanded in the future to include additional ECUs.
RFT service must be bought separately 690 euro.
Q: Isn’t magic doing it for free to masters?
A: 150 green coins a time but you have to have full to be able to use the service or it’s 695€ for none full users to use it.
SID212 & SID212 EVO on AutoTuner
Autotuner officially rolls out SID212 support via their brand new AT Remote Unlock!
Autotuner supports SID212/SID212 EVO remote unlock service from June 2025. With a flat fee of 250€ per unit.
The AutoTuner ECU Unlock procedure:
01. Purchase the Unlock service.
Buy your Remote Unlock service directly on Autotuner website.
02. Remove the ECU and ship it to Autotuner HQ.
Remove the ECU from the vehicle and send it to us, well protected in a box, along with the follow-up document.
03. Let the AT team work
We’ve got it all covered: the AT Team unlocks your ECU and sends it back to you, safely packed.
04. Reinstall the unlocked ECU
Reinstall the now unlocked ECU into the vehicle.
05. Tune
The ECU is ready for read/write operations with your AT device.
