ECUDesk software ($1000) has a lot of similarities with CarEdit software which costs $500. The list of supported vehicles is the same and other similarities besides the price.
Why is ECUDesk software more expensive? What are the differences?
ECUDesk and CarEdit are both pay-as-you-go tuning software that allows users to access and edit calibration maps within an ECU. These software are ideal for tuners who don’t tune frequently but still need access to the software’s features, drivers.
ECUDesk Function
EGR, DPF, NOx, SCR, CAT, SAP, EVAP, FLAPS, DTC off
The Premium Version also does IMMO Off, Speed limit off and stage 1.
CarEdit Function:
SCR, DPF, DTC, EGR, UFMS, CAR, VSA, SAP, CAR, Adblue off
Both software use an annual subscription. A valid subscription is mandatory for use.
Difference:
CarEdit has hidden fees that are much higher than ECUDesk
