Tried to boot read Ford SID209 with KTAG, it starts to read but stops at about 40%. Which tool would be better to use?
Both pcm and foxflash will read and write Ford SID209 ECU. Which is easier?
PCM:
If need to pcmflash, this ecu needs to be opened and done with BSL module 53.
Password -> obd. Read password via OBD before removing ECU from vehicle. If you do by obd make sure to have a battery maintainer.
Reading/writing -> boot + resistance 1k x2. Pull ECU and use the 2 1k ohm resistors and do the connections just like the instructions state.
There are 2 values to change, to unlock OBD write, of course you need a boot read first.
Connect 1 kΩ resistors to two via points, connect the end of the resistors to the two upper pads.
Check detailed instructions:
Foxflash:
OBD read and write is 50/50 chance. Some read/write via OK no problem.
Some obd read ok, failed to write by OBD.
Some obd read no problem, write it back it goes super fast to 100%, but back an error and car won’t start.
So better read and get password via OBD, then boot to write.
And see instructions doesn’t need resistors. Better have a battery maintainer. It needs lots of power.
SIEMENS CONTINENTAL SID209 [ TC1797 INT.F.] – Ford
Step 1: Password Search
Connect the pinout and use the following driver:
Use the driver:
→ TOOLS BOOT MODE
→ INFINEON TRICORE Tool Password
→ OBD PASSWORD SID209 FORD
→ Click on “Find Password” and follow the software messages.
Attention: If you cannot find the password from Pinuot, you must launch the driver in OBD on the vehicle.
Use the driver:
→ TOOLS BOOT MODE
→ INFINEON TRICORE Tool Password
→ OBD PASSWORD SID209 FORD
→ Click on “Find Password” and follow the software messages.
Attention: If you cannot find the password from Pinuot, you must launch the driver in OBD on the vehicle.
Step 2: Read and Write ECU
Connect with the multifunction cable the following pinout and the boot shown below
Use the foxflash driver:
→ TOOLS BOOT MODE
→ INFINEON TRICORE Boot
→ SAK TC1797
see instructions doesn’t need resistors.
NOTE:
If you fail to write via OBD, do a boot full read, send obd read, boot read data to obdii365.com customer service, foxflash engineer will modify data then you can rewrite by OBD.
Both device will read sid209 via obd, then need write via boot mode. With pcm you have to solder 2 resistors, foxflash does not.
