In sum:
- ECU Bench tool is a clone of AMT BST bench tool. PCMTuner is based on PCMFlash. PCM tuner uses dongle, ECU bench tool does not. They are different devices.
- ECU Bench tool does not work on OBD mode. PCMTuner does.
- ECU bench tool does not read gearbox ECUs, PCMTuner does. PCMTuner cannot read BMW Bosch EDC16 EDC17, MG1 MD1 and ME9 ECUs at present (keep updating).
- Both come with 2 software programs, one to read and write ECU, and another for wiring diagram/tuning file download.
- Ecu bench tool both programs can be updated online. pcmtuner flash software is not possible to update online.
- Both provide VR files download, tuning download and tuning service.
