Note: Xprog box programmer 5.51 can only use our software CD and our hardware (Item No: SM44). DO NOT update software online.
Main steps
Step 1: Install Xprog 5.51 setup
Step 2: Install Adobe Reader
Step 3: Install Microsoft Visual C++2008
Step 4: Install xprog driver
Step 5: Run Xprog software & Read ECU

Step 1: Install Xprog 5.51 setup
Extract Xp5.51 install zip file to desktop
Extract vcredist2008
Extract AdbeRdr11000_zh_CN.zip
Extract driver zip
Delete 4 zip files on desktop
Open xp5.51 install file and install it
Click Install
Step 2: Install Adobe Reader
Open AdbeRdr1010 and install Adobe Reader 10.1.0
Click Install
Click Finish when Adobe Reader installation complete
Step 3: Install Microsoft Visual C++2008
Open vcredist2008 to install Microsoft Visual C++2008
Click Next
Accept license agreement, click Install
Click Finish when C++2008 is installed
Delete vcredist2008 and AdbeRdr11000_zh_CN files on desktop
Step 4: Install xprog driver
Connect X-prog M programmer with computer
Open My Computer->Manger->Device Manager->Human Interface Devices->USB Human Interface Devices to check Xprog is well connected with computer
Install hardware wizard
Select “Install from a list of specific location (Advanced)”
Tick “Include this location in the search” and browse file to C:/drivers/win_2k_xp_2k3
Click OK
Click Next
Click Finish
Install hardware wizard again follow the steps above
Make sure XPROG Box programmer Com port is set to COM4
Step 5: Run Xprog software & Read ECU
Open xp5.51 software on desktop
Select software language
Accept Adobe Reader license agreement
Click Option tab->Ports, to check USB port is set to COM4
Click Device function
Select ECU type and device
Dashboard->BMW->E46-M35080
Click New
Click Read
Check the ECU data
Click Save and save data
