Turn off FJ Cruiser Seat belt chime with Toyota Techstream 10.00.028

I recently got a 2011 Toyota Fj cruiser and was trying to reset the seat belt chime with the old wiring method, only to found the old odd trick would not work. Asked the dealerships and sorted it out. Here I would write up the solution. MINI VCI Techstream cable or any interface compatible with Techstream software is needed

Edit: The cable I got is V9 software around 30 bucks. And the software has recently been updated. For Techstream 10.00.028 free download: http://blog.obdii365.com/2015/07/08/free-download-toyota-tecshtream-v10-10-018-software/.

THE PERFECT SOLUTION:

The dealership tech enlightened me on how to do it yourself. All you need is $30 to buy the cable and software and a laptop to install the software and use to connect it. The cable communicates the car and the laptop which contains the software. Place ordered and got it this Monday. It came with a mini CD to be loaded on the laptop. Once hooked it up to your car, you can change even more settings than you thought on your car (ie dome lights stay on for 30 seconds, unlock button on key unlocks all doors, or requires 2 clicks to unlock all doors, SEAT BELT CHIME, etc

If you want this cable and software search “Toyota MINI VCI Cable” or “Toyota Mangose Cable”. Or you may want to buy from my link: http://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/mini-vci-for-toyota-tis-techstream.html.

The OEM cable is $500, DO NOT NEED THIS. There are Chinese knock offs that will do it for you which only cost $30.

Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone who hates that seat belt chime as much as I do!!! However, this is technically a solution but also causes another issue. You may put your passengers in danger if any accident occures. It is your choice
